SHARING a studio takes a bit of give and take, says painter Wendy Grace.
"You have to bend a bit and be considerate of the other person," Grace said.
In the four years she's worked from St Kilda's Vale St studios, Grace said the benefits had far outweighed the challenges.
"It's a very good support network," she said. "There's quite a lot of interaction."
Grace is known for her big, colourful canvases painted in acrylic, inspired by patterns she sees in nature.
She and the nine artists who use the studio will throw open the doors to the public next month.
Other artists based at the studio are Gavin Brown, Betty Greenhatch, Richard Manning, Lewis Miller, Hans Schiebold, Miranda Skoczek, Poh Sum Wong, Despa Hondros and Suzanne Playfoot.
Vale St Artist Studios, level 1, 8-10 Vale St, will be open on October 6-7.

As seen in the Port Phillip Leader.
